Finding The Pet Day Care Of My Dreams

Five Easy Ways To Make Your Pet A Sweater- Without Sewing A Stitch!

If you have a dog, make sure that you bundle them up during the cooler months. Keep them comfortable with an easy-fitting, cozy sweater that you can make on your own; plus, a sweater can help protect your pet's coat and skin from mattes and irritants. These simple suggestions don't involve sewing and may be made from things that you have on hand.

Five ways to make your dog or cat a sweater without sewing a stitch are:

1. Repurpose a knit beanie. Give a knit beanie a second life by turning it into a sweater for your small to medium-sized dog. This simple process basically entails cutting a neck-hole from the top and holes on either side for your dog's front legs. Fleece beanies work well because they won't fray.

2. Salvage some second-hand sweater sleeves. Clip the sleeves of a favorite, but unwearable, sweater to make outerwear that is big enough for a medium-sized dog. The sleeves form the body of the sweater, and you can cut small holes for the pooch's front legs. If you are worried about the hems fraying, apply dots of hot glue and press them in along the hem to help stop the yarn from coming apart with wear.

3. Recycle an old sock. A large sock, like an outdoor or hand-knit variation, can be used as the sweater body for a small, toy-sized dog or a cat. Choose longer socks for dogs such as dachshunds, or cotton-knit socks for short-haired Chihuahuas. This is a great project when one sock from a pair develops a hole or becomes lost.

4. Fabricate from non-fraying felt. Create no-sew coat from felt, which won't fray. Make your pet one of these cute coats, and use adhesive Velcro tabs to secure the coat around their midriff. There are also tutorials to make coordinating scarves so that your canine is in style!

5. Save an old pair of sweatpants. A pair of recycled fleece sweatpants is all that you need to make a super-easy and super-comfy sweater for your dog or cat. Depending on the size of your pet, you will need the right size legs of the sweatpants to fit feasibly around your dog's middle; keep in mind that most sweatshirt and sweatpants material has some give to make a more flexible fit.

Try these five suggestions for a cute and creative sweater--without sewing a single stitch! Start saving old apparel to repurpose into a comfy, cozy sweater for your furry family members. About Me

Finding The Pet Day Care Of My Dreams

Once my work schedule changed, I knew that I would be required to work out of the country from time to time. I was pretty worried about leaving my pet alone for days on end, so I decided to investigate professional dog day care centers. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a place that would work, but surprisingly, I found a facility without any trouble at all. In addition to having trained veterinarians on staff, the facility also strived to provide for every comfort a dog could ask for. There was a pet pool, a pet play area, and even individual pet sleeping areas. This blog is all about finding the pet day care of your dreams, so that you don't have to stress when you travel.
